Fallings Park
Primary School
PTA
Fallings Park has an elected PTA committee that supports the School and our children.
The purpose of our PTA is to:

-
Raise funds to help the school provide resources and extras for pupils
-
Run social events for parents and children
-
Provide support for school visits, outings and other special events

Our PTA is about more than just fundraising. We exist to provide closer links between home and school, and bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school.

All parents and members of the school community can get involved if they want to, even if they only have a small amount of time available, and all parents and staff members are automatically members of Fallings Park Primary School Parent and Teachers association.

Our PTA Committee
Our PTA committee consists of four Officers (Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary) and four other committee members to make up the full committee.
Chair
Chairs monthly meetings, handles in-coming mail and phone calls that are PTA business and lots more.
Vice Chair
Attends monthly meetings. Will conduct meetings, in the absence of the Chair. Copies PTA newsletter, make purchases as necessary when requested and approved by the PTA. Responsible for sending thank you notes.
Treasurer
Keeps an accurate and detailed account of all PTA donations received and purchases paid out. Issues cheques, balance bank statements, attend meetings and gives a report on current financial status.
Secretary
Is responsible for keeping records of proceedings of the PTA. Records committee monthly minutes, and presents the minutes for approval at the next monthly meeting.
Our elected Committee members are:

Amanda Steventon
Naomi Parker-Blakeway

How We Raise Money
The majority of our funds are raised through events. We meet with the Headteacher and respond to the children’s requests for events. It is rewarding to see pupils having fun at the events or enjoying using a piece of new equipment that the PTA has funded.
How We Communicate With Parents
This section of the website the best way to keep up to date. It is important to keep an eye on the ‘Events’ and ‘PTA’ sections of our website.
Occasionally we send PTA letters home - these will be printed on green paper so they are easily recognised. The letters will include information on forthcoming events and dates plus requests for assistance.
How Parents Get Involved
There are lots of ways you can help and support your child through the PTA. Offering to help before events or at other times during the year is valuable – it really is a case of ‘many hands make light work’.
It doesn’t matter if parents can’t help on a regular basis, or even if they can’t come into school. There are always little jobs that can be done from home if parents have half an hour to spare e.g. wrapping gifts, preparing raffle tickets etc. A PTA really couldn’t achieve what it does without the unseen ‘army of help’ that exists in school.
Parents can nominate themselves to be a Committee Member or parents can simply support the Open-zone meetings and give ideas for fundraising events – this is also the time to ask questions or voice your opinion on the work of the PTA.
Parents can help by letting our PTA know if they have any contacts or skills a PTA could use – everything is potentially valuable. This can be done by emailing us at:
